The course of the French revolution
While the French Revolution was a class conflict, it was really triggered by hungry peasants and a stupid king. Louis XVI called together the estates general in 1789. This had not been done for over a hundred years. The Third Estate fearing they were going to be over ruled by the other two Estates convinced the other estates to let them have half the total votes. When the discussions stalled the third Estate broke away and formed the National Assembly.
